A WORLD OF RESPECT

Respect. Aretha Franklin sung about it; Rodney Dangerfield couldn’t get any of it; and author, counselor and psychotherapist Susanne Slay-Westbrook, has made it the cornerstone for her practice,

And so, in 2001, she wrote and published her debut book,  A World of Respect, Respect is the Golden Rule – do unto others as you would have done unto you. It’s a universal concept that is understood in one form or another in all countries and cultures,. Respect is a way of thinking, perceiving and understanding life. It’s active and can be demonstrated by something as small as opening a door for someone to being tolerant and understanding of racial, sexual or international differences.”

In her book, A World of Respect, Ms. Slay-Westbrook states that self-respect is a crucial precursor to being able to give respect to others. She points out that a person cannot give what they do not have, but that once it has been tasted and experienced, it must be passed on in relationships, families, communities and the world.
